TOP 5 TIPS: KEEPING FIREWOOD DRY:

5. SPLIT IT.

You don’t have to use an American-made splitter from American CLS to split wood. You also don’t have to hurt your back or your wallet.

4. ELEVATE IT.

Find a place for the firewood that is elevated from soil/ground. Ground absorbs moisture which gets into the wood.

3. STACK IT.

Stack the firewood effectively. You want to make sure the wood is properly spaced and balanced so that wind/rain can’t quickly ruin your stack.

2. COVER IT.

Any tarp will do as long as it is large enough. Important to note that using tarp BEFORE letting wood dry will hold the moisture in. Make sure wood is dry before putting tarp on.

1. CHECK IT.

Make sure you check your firewood before you use it. Here are a few things to look for:

  • Dry firewood will be gray with cracks along the edges.
  • Dry firewood will also be much lighter than wet firewood.

Happy Splitting!
